There comes a time in every person’s life when Life becomes hard and unbearable that giving up feels like the only option.

When you have done your best and yet your best isn’t enough, and all you see is failure, giving up seems to be the easiest way out.

While some days are easier and filled with hope and dreams, there are days that life just gets simply hard.

When life gets hard, you may probably feel like giving up on;

  •  life or your dreams because you keep failing
  •   your marriage, relationship
  •  living with depression
  •  your business because you lost money
  • quite that school because you keep failing your exams.
  • you feel like not dating again because you just can’t seem to find the right person.

Oh, trust me I have been there with failure so I know when life hit you so hard sometimes you might want to  throw in the towel.

I’m sure if you ask 100 successful people  about their journey to success, You will get at least half of them telling you about their failures and how they also almost gave up one time in their journey.

I know how it feels like to lose control and feel like life has no purpose and all you really want to do is give up.

The thing is, if you have fought till this far in life, then don’t give up, because there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Below, I would like to share 10 tips to help you deal with difficult times in your life.

  1. Know that God got you.

When life gets hard and you feel like giving up, always remember that the Lord is your strength. He got your back.

So rely on the word of God and His promises. He always come true for those who trust Him.

Do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ( Isaiah 41.10)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging (Psalm 46: 1-3)

God is still on the throne, He still got you.

Though the road looks crooked and things seem like they won’t get better, I promise t God has a plan and He is lining up things in your favour and when the time is right you will see why He got you wait.

2. Accept that failure is part of life.

Accept that failure is part of normal human life.

No one has ever made it to success without facing failure along the way. We all know  failure is hard to deal with. Especially when you have been working so hard on your dreams, life, relationship, health and you don’t see positive results. You may be tempted  to give up. But keep pressing on, because you are on the right track. You will soon see light after the darkness.

All successful people have gone through failures or have tasted failure before reaching success. You are not alone in this.

Do not let the fear of failing stop you from trying.

3. Stop comparing your life to others life.

All fingers are not the same, and remember that what you are complaining about, someone is dying to have.

So stop comparing yourself to others.

And who is to say that the people you are comparing your life to aren’t going through the same thing you are going through.

We all have our failures and some people are just good at masking their failures, which might make you think their lives are perfect. People usually show their winning seasons.

So stop thinking they have it all good and glamorous. The grass is greener at the other side. But even greener where you water it. So focus on your dreams and yourself instead of others successes.

4. Appreciate life and all the lessons it brings.

Life is full of lessons and we need to embrace the lessons it brings.

Life is made up of seasons; there are seasons of happiness, seasons of sadness and seasons of struggles.

There are days when you are up and days when you are down. But which ever season you find yourself, just take the lessons in it and learn from it.

Life is the most beautiful thing ever, so appreciate it. Don’t give up on it.

5. You are valuable to your family and the world at large

When life gets hard and dreams seem far from reach, and things just don’t seem to work out in favour, you may feel tempted to give up on life altogether. But you have to remember that you are precious to your family and the world.

There is someone somewhere who needs your kindness, your loyalty, your friendship, and your smile.

There is someone somewhere who needs your gift and talents to survive. SO please don’t give up. Live life to the fullest. Create beautiful memories with the little things you have. You are valuable!

6. Build a circle of positive people around you

I know most of us prefer to deal with life on our own. Or maybe you are a loner and prefer to handle your issues alone.

However, life can be tough and lonely at times, and we all need a helping hand every now and then to move ahead.

Find a circle of friends or support system to lean on. I know most often, we tend to think,  maybe people don’t care or everyone is busy. But you might be surprised how supportive people actually are once you open up to them.

Reach out and be willing to accept the help once it is offered.

7. Find your happy place

It is tempting to wallow in your problems and feel sorry for yourself.

But what can actually help you to get out of beating yourself up and keep  moving ahead  is finding what makes you happy.

Find something positive to spend your energy on.

Refocus your energy by discovering something new to do.  It could be singing, writing, reading, or even volunteering at old people’s homes or homeless shelters. By helping others, you will rediscover your purpose in life.

8. Believe in yourself and dreams

Believe in yourself and your dreams as if the most richest person on earth is  watching you daily.

Don’t allow anyone to tell you, you can’t do anything. There will always be people who don’t believe in your dreams or try to bring you down. But you have to be your biggest cheerleader. fall in love with yourself and dreams. Learn to believe in yourself. Build yourself up so strong that negative energy will not have a place in your life.  Write positive affirmations to yourself every day and repeat them to yourself everyday until you start believing in those things.

Example; tell yourself how intelligent, capable, beautiful and amazing you are.

Set goals and work on it as if your entire existence depends on it. Know that if you can dream it, you can achieve it.

You are strong, intelligent and capable to fulfil your purpose.

God has given you the strength and the talent, you alone posses to pursue this dream so get up and chase after your dreams.

9. You are closer to your dreams than you think

Remember that after rainbows come after the rain. Hard times comes before breakthrough.

I read a book, the alchemist, which says “if you want something so bad, the universe work hard to make sure that you get it.”

When things get really tough and almost seem no way out, just hang in there because that is a sign that you are closer to your success. Keep pushing and pressing on because your success is near.

10. Reflect and count your blessings

Life struggles can sometimes force us to forget about the good things in our lives.

When you fail at something, or something goes wrong in your life. It is important to take sometime away from everything and ask yourself, what could you have done better? what went wrong or how can you improve from here on.

Reflections are tools that help us to know where we are coming from and how to make better decisions so we can move forward positively. Study your situation carefully and learn from them.

When life gets hard, I want you to just sit down and count your blessings. Name your blessing one by one. You are still alive and breathing and that is something be grateful for.

God will never let never let what you lost, be the best you ever had.

Remember you are here and you are valuable.
